The lads were unbeaten in the group stages in Belgium before losing out to eventual winners Anderlecht in the semi-final. They picked themselves up to beat Beerschot in the third/fourth play-off.
But the trip was more than just matches and results, as coach Pat explained.
"John McDermott (Academy manager) has brought in a 4-3-3 formation that he used with England and we’ve worked hard on it in pre-season, bedding in new ideas," said Pat.
"The fact that we had seven games in three days established the system with the kids and we’re now looking to polish up a little.
"We had a good opportunity to look closely at the system and that was one of the big plusses.
"You also look at certain players who did well — Leigh Mills had an excellent tournament and Richard Heller did well in certain games, to mention two.
"Generally, it was a good four days for everyone to get to know each other. The tournament was tough but lots of plusses came out of it and the lads were a credit to the club."
Pat Holland was counting the plusses after our Academy's third place in the Eurofoot tournament.
