Positive vibes from Sol

There were no hints as to when he might be back in the big time but a buoyant Sol Campbell took his first steps back towards the Premiership on Tuesday night. <P class=MsoNormal>Our super skipper came through his first taste of competitive action since dislocating his shoulder against Brentford on September 19 in our reserves&rsquo&#59; excellent win against Nottingham Forest. <P class=MsoNormal>Sol played 65 minutes of the FA Premier Reserve League encounter and looked comfortable and composed at the back, happy to challenge aerially and always willing to bring the ball out from defence. <P class=MsoNormal>In truth he was barely tested as Chris Hughton&rsquo&#59;s men turned in arguably their best performance of the season to record a 3-1 success &mdash&#59; the club&rsquo&#59;s first away win of the season at senior level. <P class=MsoNormal>Speaking in the changing room directly after the final whistle, a satisfied Sol reflected: &ldquo&#59;It went well. After 60 minutes I got a little bit tired but that was enough for me. I&rsquo&#59;ve been out for 10 weeks and that was enough. It&rsquo&#59;s all positive and going in the right direction. <P class=MsoNormal>&ldquo&#59;There were no tweaks &mdash&#59; I was a little stiff where I haven&rsquo&#59;t been playing but it&rsquo&#59;s all positive, that&rsquo&#59;s the main thing. I haven&rsquo&#59;t got time for negativity. It&rsquo&#59;s pure positive from me. That&rsquo&#59;s how I&rsquo&#59;m going to approach things.&rdquo&#59; <P class=MsoNormal>The England international will now head back to the gymnasium and training pitches at Spurs Lodge as he builds for that Premiership return &mdash&#59; pundits have pencilled in the big one against Manchester United on December 2 but Sol insisted wasn&rsquo&#59;t looking at dates. <P class=MsoNormal>&ldquo&#59;I&rsquo&#59;ve now got to get more confidence with my body, fitness has got to come up and hopefully the shoulder will be nice and sturdy,&rdquo&#59; he added. &ldquo&#59;I&rsquo&#59;m going to carry on doing my bits and bobs to strengthen it up and I&rsquo&#59;m going in the right direction, that&rsquo&#59;s the main thing. It&rsquo&#59;s all positive &mdash&#59; positive, positive, positive. <P class=MsoNormal>&ldquo&#59;I&rsquo&#59;ll be back in training for the rest of the week, looking to step it up, keeping my weights up and doing everything because I&rsquo&#59;ve got to keep moving on, step by step, higher and higher, getting my fitness up, my shoulder stronger and getting my confidence up. That&rsquo&#59;s the main thing. I&rsquo&#59;m going to go out there and do my business. <P class=MsoNormal>&ldquo&#59;For me it&rsquo&#59;s about getting my body right and it&rsquo&#59;s going the right direction.
