The boss has been boosted by the news that Goran Bunjevcevic is approaching full fitness after his fractured cheekbone and both Stephen Clemence and Steffen Iversen are stepping up training after injury.
Defender Goran, out since September 16, will play for the reserves at Derby County tonight (Baseball Ground, 7pm) and, if all goes well, is expected to be available for selection.
Glenn said: "Goran is more comfortable in the mask now and more comfortable heading the ball. He was a bit timid in heading the ball and that's understandable.
"The thing with Goran is that he played for about nine seasons without an injury, none at all in his career and suddenly he's got an ankle injury and a facial injury.
"It's been very difficult for him to overcome injuries because he's never faced them before. But he's there or thereabouts. He perhaps needs one more game to get his sharpness back."
With Teddy Sheringham and Darren Anderton back safely from England duty, only Christian Ziege, Sergei Rebrov - who play each other in the Germany versus Ukraine World Cup qualifier second leg on Wednesday - and Ledley King remain on international duty.
Glenn added: "Christian and Sergei have another round to go, hopefully, fingers crossed, they'll be okay.
"One will come back bright and breezy, one with his chin on the floor and we'll have to pick him up. But that's life.
"Things are positive, no major hiccups at this moment in time, but we've five more days to go!"
Glenn Hoddle reports a positive vibe from the training ground today as the build-up to derby day starts in earnest.
