Police probe hate campaign

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Police are investigating a hate campaign that threatens to drive manager George Graham out of Spurs. <P class=MsoNormal>Officers launched the probe after receiving documents that revealed how angry fans intimidated our chairman, Sir Alan Sugar, into leaving the club. The police are concerned that Graham could suffer similar abuse. <P class=MsoNormal>&ldquo&#59;We have investigated the campaign, but we have not been able to substantiate any criminal offences against individuals,&rdquo&#59; Chief Inspector Stephen Bloomfield of Haringey police told <I>The Mirror</I>. <P class=MsoNormal>&ldquo&#59;However, we continue to speak with Spurs and will act upon any complaints. <P class=MsoNormal>&ldquo&#59;We have taken the hate campaign very seriously and will monitor the situation if it continues with George Graham.&rdquo&#59; <P class=MsoNormal>Papers obtained by the police show that disgruntled fans targeted Sir Alan&rsquo&#59;s home to &ldquo&#59;put the frighteners on him&rdquo&#59;. <P class=MsoNormal>&nbsp&#59;<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
