Three games without a win has intensified the desire and Goran says that the winning of three points could provide the springboard the team has been seeking.
"We need points, definitely, it is something that we really need. Winning three points could signal the start of a good run and, of course, I hope we can manage this against Birmingham," said the versatile midfielder, who knows that Birmingham will offer no easy pickings.
"It is going to be hard, the style of Birmingham is really strong - lots of tackling, running in the midfield, so it makes it really difficult.
"It is not really the type of game I enjoy - if it's anything like the first one. We seem to like technical football and have to prepare slightly differently. The ball might be flying around and the second ball is very important.
"There might not be time to think about solutions when you get the ball as two or three players might be closing you down. But we are the home side and it could be different.
"If we start well and get the crowd with us we could have a good day."
Goran Bunjevcevic says need for points will be the overriding emotion in the build-up to the visit of Birmingham to the Lane on Saturday.
