Our first team coach had warned against any complacency before the game, and there can be no doubt as to how focused we were at Pride Park.
A tough away trip to the Midlands might have not been the most glamorous of our February fixtures, which include two UEFA Cup games and a Carling Cup Final, but a job had to be done nonetheless.
Gus said: “Derby was a big test in terms of seeing if we can get better and better and concentrate no matter what the competition. I was pleased with the performance and the result.
“Sometimes we have to fight and keep a clean sheet for long periods because we know the quality on the bench can come on and produce when the opposition is tired.
“Everyone’s looking forward to the upcoming games, but we’ve done nothing yet, so we have to make sure we keep going the way we have been.”
