Pleat's full of praise

Posted on 5 October 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

David Pleat couldn't single one player out after Saturday's victory against Everton - praising all 11 instead.

Fredi Kanoute's stunning strike after 42 minutes kick-started a spell of three goals in six minutes either side of half-time with Gus Poyet and Robbie Keane putting us in the driving seat after the break.

The result meant three successive clean sheets and lifted us up four places on Saturday night.

Caretaker boss David, unbeaten in three now, said afterwards: "I was pleased with every player from Keller, who was well protected, to Carr, who led the team well and by example.

"The two centre-backs got tighter and were more solid than they have been, Mauricio Taricco played some excellent football and is a lovely footballer.

"I could go through the lot. Rohan Rickets was bright and sprightly when he got the ball and worked quite hard for the team as well.

"Jokingly, I didn't think the two midfielders would last the 90 minutes! Anderton pulled the strings magnificently and Poyet was very responsible, he got in tackles, made runs and scored his goal.

"Paul Konchesky did well for the team and helped us keep our shape.

"Up front, Kanoute's got a magnificent goal and Keane was absolutely wonderful. I want to have a good look back at the video because that was like Zola, Bergkamp, all the fine front players. He got plenty of the ball and I was delighted with him."
