Pleat: We got there in the end

Posted on 7 December 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

David Pleat conceded that we can play better despite our five-goal show against Wolves on Saturday.

Robbie Keane led the way with a hat-trick against his former club, Fredi Kanoute made it eight goals in eight games and Stephane Dalmat lashed home wonderful strike in the 5-2 Premiership win at the Lane.

But the visitors had their best spell with the score at 2-1 and should have levelled but for Henri Camara's glaring miss just before Keane added the third.

Acting boss David said: "This was a game we were expected to win and we should win, but it is never like that in football and Wolves made it difficult for us.

"But we stuck in there well, scored some wonderful goals and got the glory in the end.

"I can see the broader picture and I know we can play better than that, but we had three players who passed fitness tests in the morning and maybe they were not quite right.

"I am delighted for Robbie Keane though and that is seven wins in 12 games for us, so we are not doing too badly."
