Pleat pleased

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

David Pleat was delighted to avoid a potential cup banana skin against Palace on Saturday - and in the style we did it.

Fredi Kanoute grabbed the headlines and the match ball with a classy hat-trick in the 3-0 win at the Lane.

But fellow French star Stephane Dalmat dazzled the crowd and Palace's defensive left flank with wonderful display of tricks and turns in his best display to date.

Indeed, with Simon Davies also returning from injury, the only down side was Gus Poyet's late sending off after a clash with Dougie Freedman.

"The important thing is that we are through," said acting boss David. "Our banana skin was as slippery as anyone's up and down the country.

"Palace have been playing very well, but we got through with some very good attacking play.

"Fredi handled himself well and took his goals well."
