David Pleat hopes that this season's under-18 group win the chance to perform at White Hart Lane in the FA Youth Cup.
The boys begin their Cup quest tonight when they travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion in the third round and, while David does not expect this team to maybe get as far in the competition as the previous two teams have, he would like them to experience playing at the Lane.
"I had great hopes two years ago when Rooney wrecked us in the semi-final against Everton and also had high hopes last year - I remember where I was when I made the phone call to find out the score," recalled David. "I was at an airport in Spain on my way to Argentina and got told we'd been beaten 1-0 by Middlesbrough in the 6th round.
"This year we won't expect too much, as long as they do their best and give a good account of themselves. I hope they get through and get a home tie so they can play at White Hart Lane.
"The Youth Cup was always a major event and it was a shame when we got the list through and found that some clubs are playing the games at other grounds."
