Pleat on forum

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Our director of football David Pleat declared Thursday night’s Fans Forum at the Lane a success.

David led a Tottenham panel of director Martin Peters, reserve team boss Chris Hughton, goalkeeping coach Hans Segers and Norwegian striker Steffen Iversen.

A total of 36 questions were asked with topics ranging from the future of Sol Campbell and Darren Anderton to away form, the media, sports psychologists and the Academy.

Big Sol was the most frequent topic and David insisted that we were doing all we can to keep the skipper at the club. He also said we would try to negotiate a new deal with Anderton. Meanwhile Iversen reiterated that he intended to return in time for the Arsenal game on December 18.

Summing up, David said: "I thought the audience were very good. They asked sincere questions, they are all determined for the club to do well, they want to regain past glories and unfortunately all you can tell them sometimes is the stories of youth and patience and you cannot make false promises.

"You have to hope that they know that people are working sincerely to get Tottenham winning. That’s all you can do.

"There were no agitators particularly in the audience. They’ve all got their view and you know what they say about football and why it’s such a fascinating games because there are so many differing views.

"Everyone has a different idea, everyone would pick a different team, everyone would play a different style.

"Generally speaking we know everyone’s heart is with the club and we’ve just got to get the club moving. I wouldn’t like to come back in three years and still be saying the same things because then I would think we were failing."
