David Pleat declares himself hopeful that both Simon Davies and Darren Anderton will be available for the Easter programme following injury.
Simon has been absent with a shin problem since the Leicester game at the Lane on February 22, while Darren has been missing since the trip to Middlesbrough on March 9 due to an Achilles injury.
The acting boss has been forced to shuffle his midfield pack in wide areas in subsequent games, with Dean Marney, Fredi Kanoute and Michael Brown filling in on the right side at various times. We now travel to Everton on Friday, with Manchester City following at the Lane on Monday and, after nearly a week's training, David hopes that Simon is ready to return to the ranks.
"I hope so, but not too much responsibility must be put on his shoulders," he said of the Welsh international. "It would be like saying just because of one player we haven't had the success that we've craved for.
"I would also like to think that Darren Anderton will be back in the fold soon, he has got a slight Achilles problem.
"I know with Simon Davies and Darren Anderton on board it would give us far more maneuverability in midfield."
