Pleat curses our luck

Posted on 30 November 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

David Pleat could only curse our luck as a deflected goal at Ewood Park cost us for the second successive away match.

Stephen Carr threw himself at Vratislav Gresko's speculative 30-yarder after 77 minutes only to see the shot spin off his leg and nestle into the opposite corner.

Incredibly, the same thing happened to the same player as Freddie Ljungberg;s shot looped home at Highbury on our last away trip.

Blackburn just about edged it in terms of possession but our defence looked solid again and, at the other end, Robbie Keane and Helder Postiga were off target with our best chances.

"The game was very even in the first half when not much happened," said caretaker boss David.

"The game picked up in second half and we were sitting comfortably. Kasey Keller had to field a few shots but I didn't think we looked in terrible touble.

"Blackburn had a bit of a surge, we expected that with them being the home side, but the goal was, of course, very, very fortunate.

"I thought we defended well and we deserved a point at least."
