"The game was very even in the first half when not much happened," said caretaker boss David.
"The game picked up in second half and we were sitting comfortably. Kasey Keller had to field a few shots but I didn't think we looked in terrible touble.
"Blackburn had a bit of a surge, we expected that with them being the home side, but the goal was, of course, very, very fortunate.
"I thought we defended well and we deserved a point at least."
David Pleat could only curse our luck as a deflected goal at Ewood Park cost us for the second successive away match.
