Player Update

Jonathan Woodgate has not had his contract renewed by the Club following its expiration at the end of June.

Signed from Middlesbrough, 'Woody' made 65 appearances in our colours, scoring three times. His most memorable goal, of course, came at Wembley when he netted the extra-time winner in the Carling Cup final against Chelsea in 2008.

The central defender made just one appearance last season due to injury and we wish him every success in the future.

Stipe Pletikosa has returned to Spartak Moscow following the conclusion of his loan with the Club, with Academy players Zaine Francis-Angol and Olumide Durojaiye released at the end of their scholarships. We wish them all well.

Young striker Jonathan Obika, defender Adam Smith and goalkeeper Ben Alnwick have all signed contract extensions, while First Year professional contracts have been awarded to Ryan Fredericks, Jesse Waller-Lassen, Cameron Lancaster, Alex Pritchard, Kudos Oyenuga, Jordan Archer and Callum Tapping. Jonathan Miles and Paul McBride have been awarded Third Year Scholarships.
