This is all about possession and judgement.
I normally receive my balls to run on to from the midfield and if he's under pressure you have to judge whether or not that pass is going to get there, so you can't lose you line of defence too early.
If that midfielder has time and space, you can make that run. It depends how the game is going but I think it comes from the player who is going to pass.
If he has time, you have the licence to go. It's a judgement call and there are left wingers around now who can do a lot of damage, so you have to have the pace to get back quickly.
You have to work the winger how he works you and try and put your game on top of him. It's hard with the likes of Duff, Giggs, Pires around but they don't to defend, so do to them what they try to do to you.
