The 'Welsh Wonder' has been popular with our faithful since his first few games at the end of the 2000 season, but last season was his coming of age. Not only has he wowed the Lane, but also he has made his mark at international level.
THFC Member, Roy Bill was on hand to present the Award to Simon at the Charlton home match after being drawn out of the hat following the voting poll on the website. Thousands of our members voted and Roy was the lucky winner to be picked out to present the prize.
Simon succeeds last year's winner, Neil Sullivan, for the honour and he was overjoyed on receiving the shield. He will also feature on the pewter badge gift, which adult members receive when joining as a result.
"It's an unbelievable honour to win the trophy and I'd like to personally thank everyone who voted for me, I'm very grateful," reacted the 23-year-old. There have been some great players down the years who have won it before me so to take the award in my first full season is fantastic.
"I actually thought Darren had a great year, so did Gus Poyet and a few of the other guys too so to win the award ahead of them is quite special."

Those of you here at our match against Charlton on Boxing Day will have seen Simon Davies receiving the THFC Members Player of the Year Award for 2002.
