Spurs supporters are being encouraged to do their bit for London in 2012, with Harry Redknapp urging fans to take up the "once in a lifetime opportunity" to show off our great city during the Olympic Games.

"As a Londoner, I am extremely proud that our capital is hosting the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games," said Harry.

"As well as visiting London to see the world's top sporting stars competing in amazing venues, London's visitors in 2012 are coming to the capital to experience all that London has to offer - its attractions, culture, history - and its people!

"Londoners will play a vital role in welcoming visitors and showing them the real London. We want our visitors to remember Londoners as warm, friendly and welcoming; people who want to show off their city and share the parts of London that, as a Londoner, you can personally recommend.

"This is why I encourage Londoners to volunteer as London Ambassadors during the Games. Not only is this a once in a lifetime opportunity, it's your chance to welcome the world to London in 2012!"

Could you be a London Ambassador in 2012?
The 8,000 Ambassadors will have fantastic people skills combined with a passion for London. To be a London Ambassador, you'll need to commit to six consecutive days of volunteering, with each day's shift lasting five hours. In return, you'll receive:

o free travel within zones 1-6 for each day you volunteer
o food and refreshments during your shift (£5 per day)
o a uniform that you can keep
o a mobile device to help you while you're volunteering.

Training and support
Throughout the programme, you'll be given training to make sure you're ready to welcome the world to London in 2012. During your shifts, your team leader will be available to answer your questions and help you deal with any difficult situations.
