Big Sol is a free agent under the terms of the Bosman ruling. He can already talk to clubs on the continent and can start talking to Premiership teams at the end of the season.
Chris, Sol’s central defensive partner for the last two seasons, says it would be a ‘huge blow’ to lose him.
He insisted: “If you look at him he is probably one of the best defenders in the world and to lose a player like Sol, who has been at the club a long time and knows it inside out, would be a huge blow.
“But it all depends on Sol. It’s what he feels.
“Certainly I think his heart is here, it’s whether Tottenham can come up with the right offer to keep him.
“He’s in a good position himself, being on a free transfer and the ball is in Tottenham’s court really.
“I just think he wants it to be right. It’s an important contract for him.
“He’s 26 and important that everything is right on and off the pitch. This is a make of break contract.
“He likes everything here and I think Tottenham have a big advantage in that respect, it’s just up to the club to make that advantage stick.”
Chris Perry has underlined how important he feels it is for the club to hold onto Sol Campbell.
