The brave defender was stretchered off after sustaining the injury blocking Frederic Kanoute's shot on the edge of the area.
The injury came just days after he was involved in a horror clash with Fulham's Pierre Wome that, thankfully, left no lasting damage.
Boss Glenn Hoddle revealed this afternoon: "Chris actually underwent surgery on Sunday. It was a very deep cut, a puncture, but the good news is that there is no damage to the knee.
"He's had it cleaned out, he'll have the stitches out in about 10 days and we'll know after that when he can resume training. Hopefully he'll only be out for three weeks."
Chris Perry is expected to return in three weeks after scans and surgery revealed no further damage to his badly gashed knee.
