The tigerish defender suffered a slipped disc in the neck in the game against Everton in January and has been forced to rest since then. He is expected to feature in the reserve fixture at Leicester on Wednesday.
"I'm feeling quite good and fairly fit," said Chris. "Obviously it has been some weeks, so it has been quite physically hard and I'm just enjoying being back in with the lads really.
"I think it happened in the game against Everton, I went up for a header in the last ten minutes and landed a bit funny. After the game I had a stiff neck which didn't go away. I went for a scan and it showed I had a slipped disc.
"It was just rest as you can't do a lot for it. The muscles around it go into spasm and eventually calm down again.
"The aim is to get back in the squad and hopefully help us push on to Europe during the rest of the season."
Chris Perry returned to training last Monday and hopes to join the chase for a top-six place in the coming weeks.
