Kevin Bond felt we ticked all the boxes in our pre-season opener at Exeter on Wednesday night.
Goals from Jamie O'Hara, Aaron Lennon and Darren Bent secured a 3-0 win in our first friendly of the summer as we played with a different team in each half at St James Park.
"I thought it was a really good night for everyone," said assistant boss Kevin.
"It was a full turn out of supporters, a lovely evening, the pitch was great and we managed to get 45 minutes out of everybody with no injuries.
"I thought along the way we played some great stuff."
Kevin explained what the management team were looking for. "Fitness levels, to get a feel for the football again and I thought during periods of the game they passed the ball really well.
"They also got a good 45 minutes of hard work into them.
"It's their first introduction into real football this season so you have to be pleased with that."
Like boss Harry Redknapp, Kevin has been impressed with the work the lads have put in so far in pre-season.
"They've been keen, everyone wants to impress and everyone is trying to make their mark.
"Hopefully we'll steer clear of injuries which I think is the most important thing from the player's point of view but they do look sharp and hopefully that will continue."
