Teddy Sheringham's second half volley made it two wins out of two since that disastrous day at St Mary's.
Saturday's victory moved us ahead of Southampton back into seventh but crucially kept us level on points with Liverpool and just one behind Everton in fifth after both Merseyside teams got back to winning ways.
Asked about the lads' reaction since the FA Cup loss, Glenn responded: "That cup defeat hurt us, very much so.
"A lot was said outside the camp afterwards and 99 per cent of it, we ignored.
"But we were hurt internally and we've responded well.
"We had a home win against Everton last week, a team we're up against for a European spot and Villa have played very well at home this season, won eight matches and picked up a good point at Anfield last week, so we knew they were in a confident mood.
"So to come here, put them out of their stride and keep us going was a good result for us.
"We've got Newcastle next and we want to take points off them as well to help us get into Europe."
Glenn Hoddle praised the lads again at Villa Park for the way they've responded since the FA Cup exit at Southampton.
