Gus Poyet sees Liverpool at the Lane as the perfect finale to the season.

The Reds make the trip from Merseyside to N17 for one of the famous fixtures on the football calendar and a 3pm kick-off on Sunday.

Rafa Benitez’s men have already clinched fourth spot in the Barclays Premier League and a Champions League berth while we hope to leapfrog West Ham to finish in the top 10. The Hammers face Villa at Upton Park.

“It’s a beautiful game to be involved in,” said first team coach Gus. “And we want to win this game. It’s important to finish well and hopefully win at home in front of our fans, they have been outstanding all season.”

Gus expects a tactical duel against a side that has lost only three times on the road in the league all season - that’s in a total of only four league losses - and conceded just 15 goals away fro Anfield.

“They know what the are doing, they play their own game, they are patient and know sooner or later they will have a chance.

“That’s because of the quality throughout the team and then that extra quality with Gerrard and Torres. It will be important for us to come up one against one against these top players all over the pitch and see how we cope with that quality.”
