ROMAN Pavlyuchenko was the latest player sent to all corners of Spurs Lodge after losing a shooting challenge at the end of training on Thursday.
It was a busy session put on by Clive Allen involving Pav, Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, Eidur Gudjohnsen, David Bentley, Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend.
The competition followed a general shooting session and involved Clive feeding passes into the lads from the byline that they had to control and shoot from inside the 'D' of the penalty area. Jimmy Walker and Ben Alnwick took turns in goal.
The idea was that once a player had scored twice, he was 'out' - last man standing, on this occasion, was going on a 'fetch the ball' run around.
'Bents' scored two unbelievable goals where the ball appeared stuck under his feet, but he somehow managed to find the top corner. 'Crouchy' looked in danger at one point, but crashed home a right-foot volley, Gareth found the bottom corner.
Eventually, we were down to the last two - Pav and JD.
"One more each," said Clive, and both scored.
"Another one each," shouted Clive, as the pressure increased another notch. JD was first up and in typical fashion, took the net off. Then it was Pav who took a good touch - but slid the ball just wide.
You could see the sheer joy on the lads' faces as they grabbed a ball each and whacked it to kingdom come. The balls went into the trees, the bushes, under a tractor - and Pav had to fetch the lot.
He's pictured below towards the end of his run!
