Paul Stalteri claimed an assist as Canada safely progressed to the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in Miami in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The full-back and captain for the tournament crossed for Dwayne de Rosario to open the scoring in Canada's final group game against Haiti.

De Rosario, who plays in the MLS for Houston Dynamo, also bagged the second goal in a 2-0 win as Canada topped the group from Costa Rica.

They will now face the team that finishes second in Group B - that looks being like either Guatemala or El Salvador - in the last eight in Boston on Saturday.
