Paulinho's Stoke target

Paulinho has underlined the need to take our chances at Stoke City on Saturday.

The Brazilian midfielder went close to beating Joe Hart on a couple of occasions after going on as a second half substitute in last weekend’s narrow defeat to Manchester City at White Hart Lane.

Nacer Chadli, Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Ryan Mason and Erik Lamela all also had near misses in that 1-0 reverse.

And, after a solitary Danny Rose goal gave us the victory in last season’s trip to the Britannia Stadium, Paulinho has reiterated just how important it will be to make the most of any opportunities that come our way against Mark Hughes’ men.

“We have to get the chances and score,” said the 26-year-old.

“We know it’s a difficult game at Stoke, they have a strong team so we have to be ready and focused on the match to get a result.

“Last Sunday’s game against Manchester City was disappointing because of the result, but the football was much better and now we are looking forward to facing Stoke. We are ready for another big test and we are determined to get the three points.”
