Pat Holland had few complaints as our reserves drew 2-2 against Derby County at Pride Park last night.
Goals from youngster Charlie Daniels - his first at reserve level- and Helder Postiga put us 2-0 up at half-time.
Chances were created at both ends throughout and the home side battled back for a share of the spoils with a two-goal response after 76 and 80 minutes.
But with four first year Academy players in the side and one second year, coach Pat's focus afterwards was on performances rather than the result.
He said: "Obviously I'm disappointed that we lost the lead but overall I was delighted.
"I thought the attitude of the side was good. We had four first years in the side, a second year in Kieran at right-back, Phil out of position at centre-half, so it was terrific for them.
"The other lads all worked well, Goran was outstanding again at the back, Johnnie and Hughesy in midfield, Dean Marney, they all worked hard.
"It was an exciting game and the crowd made it really in how they were behind Derby all the way. It was a great atmosphere.
"We got into some good areas to finish it off at 3-0 and just that lack of composure let us down. I can't fault them for their effort - it was just a shame we didn't get the victory."
