Harry Kane fired home goal number 18 to hand us the lead just after half-time but Benji Stambouli was penalised for a foul on Joe Ledley and Dwight Gayle levelled from the spot on 69 minutes.
Palace then took maximum points via Jason Puncheon’s strike on 80 minutes.
We controlled possession for long periods, especially in the first half, but Palace organised with nine men behind the ball and made it tough for us to get through.
“The game wasn’t good, it was under control but after the penalty that was the key moment and changed the energy of the game,” said Mauricio.
“We were in control but we made a mistake. Maybe it wasn’t a penalty but after that it was difficult to handle the game.
“In the end, perhaps we didn’t deserve to lose but that’s football.
“I’m disappointed and we need to analyse, we need to improve and we need to avoid some mistakes that we made against Palace.”
