Palace 0-1 Spurs - Etienne's debut delight

Etienne Capoue was delighted to play his part in Sunday's win at Palace.

The French midfielder was one of four debutants in our Premier League opener at Selhurst Park.

Roberto Soldado, Paulinho and Nacer Chadli all started and Etienne joined the action off the bench in the second half.

We secured a 1-0 victory when Roberto slotted home a penalty in the 50th minute.

Etienne joined the action soon after that goal and caught the eye with how he covered the ground, gliding around box-to-box and his ability to win back possession.

Speaking to us briefly afterwards, Etienne was all smiles. "It was a great experience, a great feeling to be out there," he said.

"We are such a good team and it was amazing to play a part in a win on the first day.

"It was hard work out there, but that's my job, to defend and then join the attack.

"I thought we played well and deserved to win and as I said, it was amazing to play."
