Over and out for Bobby

Posted on 19 November 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Bobby Zamora took advantage of the break for international fixtures not for a few days in the sun - but to have his tonsils removed!

The striker says he has been suffering with tonsilitis for some time and, with a two-week gap between Premiership engagements, it seemed the perfect time for a removal.

"I've been suffering from tonsilitis for the last year so I went in and had my tonsils out," he reported.

"It was a good time to do it and not interfere with any games. I was in and out and just a bit sore for a few days afterwards."

Plentyful jelly and ice cream was always the imagined childhood compensation for having this particular operation, but Bobby does not quite go along with this school of thought...

"It was a bit painful and I wouldn't really recommend just to eat jelly and ice cream!"
