Teddy Sheringham is determined to go out with a bang in our final home game of the season against Liverpool on Saturday.
Recent seasons have produced memorable Lane goodbyes against Sunderland and Manchester United and our super skipper wants to continue that theme.
"We want to play well," he said. "We feel we've kept our performances up recently and we want to carry that on right through to the end of the season and finish as high in the league as we can."
Liverpool are still very much in a three-way battle for the title alongside United and Arsenal. However, Wednesday's win against West Ham appears to have tilted the balance towards N5.
Teddy continued: "Liverpool have been the quiet ones of the three, kept going, kept plugging away.
"Everyone seems to expect them to fall away but they are a very good side, very hard to break down, very good on the counter attack and they have players in there who can score goals. They are still in it and have a chance of winning it."
However, when pressed, Teddy added of the title race: "I think Arsenal have got is sewn up really. It was a big result for them against West Ham and I think they'll end up champions. That's how it looks anyway."
