Danny Rose scored one and Kyle Walker set up a second as the two youngsters made a big contribution to England U21s 2-0 friendly win over their Uzbekistan counterparts on Tuesday.
The pair both got 90 minutes under their belt at Ashton Gate, Bristol, in a warm-up match before the Young Lions' European Championship qualifying campaign resumes in Portugal on September 3.
Danny was making his ninth appearance at this level and broke the deadlock in a game England dominated on 64 minutes, reacting quickest to a rebound after Daniel Sturridge's shot was saved.
It was the midfielder's second Young Lions goal having hit the winner in a qualifier against the Portuguese at Wembley last November.
Meanwhile, it was only a second U21 cap for Kyle but he made an impression, crossing to the back post on 77 minutes for Liverpool's Martin Kelly to head home and secure the victory.
