Alan Curbishley was left to ponder on what he described as a 'dreadful week' after our 4-0 win at the Lane on Sunday.

It was the Hammers' third-successive 4-0 reverse following losses against Chelsea and Liverpool.

An early double from Dimitar Berbatov, heading home from Tom Huddlestone free-kicks and late goals from substitutes Gilberto and Darren Bent secured the victory and narrowed the gap between ourselves and West Ham to five points with a game in hand.

"Defensively we have been very good all season but in the space of a week it's been blown apart," sighed Curbishley.

"I thought we started quite brightly, there wasn't a lot in it and then we conceded from a set-piece and a free header from Berbatov, he didn't even have to jump.

"Straight after that he scored another one and it's difficult to come back from it.

"What could go wrong, has gone wrong. It's been a dreadful week. We've just got to re-group and get on with it."
