The message was clear from Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez after we came from behind to beat his side 2-1 at the Lane.

His side looked in control after Dirk Kuyt put them 1-0 up and we struggled to make an impact in the first half.

However, we switched from 4-4-1-1 to 4-4-2 in the second half, Jamie Carragher headed into his own net for 1-1 after 69 minutes and our strikers combined for a late winner when Darren Bent squared for Roman Pavlyuchenko in the 90th minute.

"I can't believe we lost that game, it's as simple as that," said the Spaniard.

"We hit the crossbar and had a lot of opportunities. It's always important to create chances but it's more important to score.

"We're really disappointed, it was really bad luck. Conceding those two goals is difficult to explain.

"We were controlling everything so I was pleased. We knew we'd have to score the second goal. If we'd scored that they were beaten.

"We had four clear chances in the second half but you have to take your chances."
