Rovers boss Sam Allardyce was quick to point out that it was all about the result, not the performance, as his side stunned us with two late goals at Ewood Park.
We were well in control for long periods of the game after Robbie Keane put us 1-0 up from the penalty spot in the first half.
But we couldn't find a second goal, Wilson Palacios was sent off with 10 minutes remaining, Rovers levelled within two minutes of us going down to 10 men and then won it in the last minute.
"It was not our best performance, I know that, but our battling qualities, our determination to go right to the end got us the victory," said Allardyce.
"We took full advantage of them going down to 10 men. Having missed a few chances, I was worried we might not score.
"When Tottenham scored it killed the lads a little bit. But our equaliser put them on the back foot and we sustained the pressure."
Blackburn have now taken 11 points from a possible 18 and Allardyce added: "It is not so much about the display but the result.
"It is all about getting the three points. We are the team in form down at the bottom end. We are on the rise."
