Everton boss David Moyes conceded that injuries overshadowed his side's 1-0 win at the Lane on Sunday.
The Toffees lost strikers Yakubu and Louis Saha to Achilles and hamstring injuries respectively - Yakubu's ruptured Achilles will keep him out for the rest of the season.
"It's a massive blow for us," Moyes said. "Yakubu's record in the Premier League is around 18 goals a season and to replace that is very difficult."
Steven Pienaar struck the only goal of the game in the 51st minute to send the Goodison side back up to seventh.
"Spurs' form at home is excellent of late and Harry's doing a magnificent job so we knew it would be tough.
"I thought it was deserved because of the way we played. Their tails were up after the last few weeks but I thought we had one or two other opportunities that we didn't take and it was a deserved result.
"Tim Howard had a couple of saves and took the pressure off us but I thought the defending in general was outstanding. A lot of credit goes to the team.
"I thought Tottenham put us under a lot of pressure in the last 20 minutes but we passed the ball, played with a lot of confidence and showed good spirit."
