Sir Alex Ferguson was pleased with how his United side hit back after Roman Pavlyuchenko's opener in Saturday's FA Cup tie at Old Trafford.

The striker headed home Tom Huddlestone's cross with just five minutes on the clock and we looked comfortable enough before two goals in the space of 90 seconds from Paul Scholes - via a heavy deflection off Huddlestone - and Dimitar Berbatov turned it around.

We created the better chances in the second half but United held on for a 2-1 win.

"We recovered well - the goalkeeper made two or three good saves and Carlos Tevez hit the crossbar," reflected Sir Alex, on the period when his team trailed 0-1.

"Then Paul Scholes got us back in the game. I'm not sure if it was going wide (before it hit Huddlestone), but I think it should be credited to him because it was a terrific hit.

"Berbatov's goal was fantastic, from a marvellous pass by Michael Carrick."
