Martin O'Neill admitted thoughts of last season's 4-4 draw were starting to creep into his mind as we staged a late comeback against Villa on Monday night.
Villa led last season's corresponding fixture 4-1 at the Lane - our 125 celebration game - before a memorable comeback saw us level the scores in injury time.
This time around it would be hard to argue that Villa didn't deserve their 2-0 lead but Darren Bent's 87th-minute goal certainly caused O'Neill some anxious moments before the final whistle.
"We got a bit tired towards the end and put men behind the ball," said O'Neill. "Tottenham started to throw it into the box and did cause us a few problems. They scored and it was a worrying few minutes but we saw it through - unlike last year.
"The nerves were jangling towards the end. You do get concerned because Tottenham had nothing to lose.
"Bent scored and they were back in it and thoughts of last season started to surface. But we saw it through and deserved to do so. It was a real team display - everyone was terrific."
