Asked if thought his side should have won, the Middlesbrough boss admitted: "No, I don't think we should have won the game, having been a goal down at half-time, I'm pleased with the result.
"We're in a spell where things are going against us and we're having to dig in, so it wasn't ideal to go in 1-0 down at half-time.
"In the second half we created enough pressure to put Tottenham on the back foot and it was a fantastic strike from Luke Young.
"Everyone here knows that Tottenham are in a false position in the league so I was pleased that we showed the character to come from behind and get a result."
In contrast to Gus Poyet, Gareth Southgate said he was pleased to grab a point from Saturday's draw.
