Gary Megson insisted his Bolton side deserved their victory at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday.

His side were a goal ahead at half-time via Sebastian Puygrenier's header and doubled their advantage just after the hour through Kevin Davies.

But it all changed with two goals in two minutes from Darren Bent to make it 2-2 with 15 minutes to go.

We pushed on for the winner but Bolton hit us hard again late in the game when Davies headed home Matt Taylor's corner with only three minutes left.

"I thought we were on top and I don't think it was anything Tottenham did that brought them back into the game," said Megson.

"We were cruising but we made a mistake on the half-way line and with the quality Tottenham have, they made it 2-1 and then another mistake for their second goal.

"I thought the momentum was lost but we regrouped and overall it was a well-deserved victory."
