Graeme Souness conceded a deflected goal might have been the only way his Blackburn side were going to beat Kasey Keller on Saturday.
In the end it took just that as Vratislav Gresko's 30-yarder deflected off Stephen Carr and left Kasey helpless as it spun inside the far post for the only goal of the game at Ewood Park.
"Kasey Keller made good saves at key times in the second half and that kept them in the game," said Rovers boss Souness. "Perhaps the way he was playing that was the only way we were going to beat him.
"We've had absolutely no luck this season whatsoever, either in play or what referees have decided what is correct or incorrect, or their linesmen.
"It's nice to have had a wee bit of luck and hopefully, that's us turned the corner and it's nice to have kept a clean sheet.
"First half, we were nervous, tentative, but in the second half, the crowd got behind us and we gathered a momentum. I think we deserved to win in the end."
