Bolton boss Gary Megson was less than pleased with our opening goal as his side were beaten 2-0 at the Lane on Sunday.

Roman Pavlyuchenko was free in the middle to head home from David Bentley's fine cross from the right with 17 minutes on the clock.

Megson's team came back into it for the remainder of the first half but we got on top following Gavin McCann's sending off for a second yellow card 10 minutes into the second half and Darren Bent completed the scoring from the penalty spot after 75 minutes.

"I think we gifted the game to Tottenham," stated Megson. "In the first 15 minutes we looked solid and they didn't create anything, but the goal altered the way the game was going.

"It was a remarkably poor goal from our point of view, we didn't put any pressure on the ball and were neither defending or playing offside.

"We set off the second half a lot better and once the sending off happened then makes a difficult job even more of a task."
