Harry Redknapp admitted he thought his Pompey side were on for a point at the Lane.
Pompey lined up in a 4-1-4-1 system with Kanu up front alone and Richard Hughes sitting in front of the back four. It meant clear-cut chances were at a premium but our patience paid off when substitutes Darren Bent and Jamie O'Hara scored the goals after 80 and 82 minutes respectively.
"For 80 minutes we were right in there and I felt we'd taken the best that Tottenham could throw at us," said Redknapp. "I was thinking it was going to be a great point for us after making six enforced changes.
"Tottenham is not an easy place to go to after making changes like that, and I thought we were fantastic. The lads who came in did a good job and worked hard.
"It would have been nice to have taken a point but they have some good players. We are sixth and they are 11th and that shows you how well we have done."
