Hull boss Phil Brown joined in with the praise for our display after beating his side 5-1 at the KC Stadium.

Jermain Defoe grabbed a hat-trick and was joined on the scoresheet by Robbie Keane and Wilson Palacios as we made it two wins out of two to top the Barclays Premier League table.

Brown said: "That's one of the best performances I have seen in the Premier League.

"We didn't apply ourselves from minute one or get close enough to Tottenham to keep ourselves in the game.

"I thought there was a gulf between the two teams in terms of class, quality and the performance.

"Every player on the field of play for Tottenham was outstanding.

"But the most outstanding side of the Tottenham performance wasn't just their quality, but how hard they worked, the closing down and the way they put a foot in.

"It was a physical game for us as well and that's not something always levelled at Tottenham teams - I thought they had everything."
