Clive Allen believes Saturday's meeting with Arsenal provides the ideal opportunity for our team to 'measure where we are at'.

With just one league defeat so far this season we sit fairly pretty in third place in the Premiership standings ahead of Arsene Wenger's side in eighth. To maintain position a positive outcome is needed though as the visitors are three points behind with a game in hand.

Like for so many of us, the Development Coach just can't wait for Saturday's 1pm kick-off to come around and see us go head to head with our nearest rivals.

"It is just a fantastic game and a great encounter," said Clive. "We all know the quality Arsenal possess and their great strengths.

I feel it is a fantastic opportunity for us to measure where we are at

"They have been successful over a number of years and you have to give the credit that is due. In saying that, with the atmosphere in our group and the way the team are working together, I do believe we have the chance to get the right result."

Clive went along with the thinking that we are perhaps in the best shape going into one of these games as we have been in the recent past.

"I would say yes," he added. We have had talented teams who perhaps haven't showed what they were capable of against Arsenal. Going into this game with the players we have, we have the team spirit needed to give them a run for their money."
