*Open day a success

Posted on 6 August 2004  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Our open day was a resounding success with over 3,000 fans watching the lads train at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Fans were handed a ticket for the open day when they bought our new home kit.

As well as being able to watch the lads train, it gave fans the first chance to see Sporting Director Frank Arnesen, Head Coach Jacques Santini, first assistant Martin Jol and coach Dominique Cuperly all at the Lane together.

And it was the same with our new signings Pedro Mendes, Paul Robinson, Marton Fulop and Erik Edman, who only arrived last Friday.

Frank, Jacques, Paul and Erik were all interveiwed on the Jumbotron by our voice of the Lane, PA man Pete Abbott.

Training started at 11am with the group split into three - Hans Segers and his goalkeepers, the first team squad and the rest of the squad who didn't start at Forest on Saturday.

The first team squad went through a 'warm down' session after that game while the rest of the squad went through various routines with the ball including six-a-side matches and shooting at the end.

Ten lucky children also had the chance to join in training with their heroes.

The day ended with Paul, Pedro and Erik signing autographs in the Megastore.
