Ones To Watch

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

The reserve team’s season will soon be upon us — so what players should we keep an eye out for in the coming months?
Last season saw the likes of Ledley King, Alton Thelwell, Gary Doherty, Simon Davies and Anthony Gardner break through the reserve ranks and make their respective marks in the Premiership.
Theo Foley coaches the reserves and played a vital role, alongside Chris Hughton, in preparing those players for the big time.
Who will be next? We asked Theo for a list of One’s To Watch for a special series and we will kick-off the feature today with young striker Steven Ferguson and midfielder John Jackson — who both caught the eye in the first team’s early pre-season friendlies.
Theo on Fergie:
“He will score a goal. He’s missed two or three chances in every game he’s played, good or bad, and what does that tell you? It tells you that he’s able to get in there and score.
“He can score goals and possibly miss three or four others.
“Very, very quick, very raw, doesn’t always know what is going on, but he can certainly do the job.
“He is one to watch. Again, development is the main thing for him. He loves to score and that’s what he lives on.”
Theo on Jacko:
“He’s quite an amazing boy, John.
“He’s got a lovely left foot, a great change of pass and change of direction. For me, at times, he’s been a little inconsistent because perhaps his standards are so high.
“I saw him play for England Under-18s against Poland and I was very disappointed with the England team.
“He has a little more to learn. We played him wide left in the beginning and I thought he suited that. Overall he has a great chance. Last season was a long season, a hard season for him, primarily because he played for England as well.”
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
