FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE
Bristol City U19s 1-0 Spurs
Boss Pat Holland was left to reflect on 'one of those games' as his Under-19s dominated before being hit by a City sucker punch.
Ron Henry saw a header hit the woodwork and bounce into the goalkeeper's hands and Lee Barnard forced the visiting keeper into a superb save just before the break.
The game followed a similar pattern in the second half but just when a goalless draw looked on the cards, up popped City with the winner with three minutes left.
Pat reflected: "It was one of those frustrating games and what made it worse was the fact that the lads actually played very well.
"We should perhaps have seen it coming when Ron's header came back off the bar into the keeper's hands and it was incredible that we weren't 1-0 up at the break.
"If anything, we dominated even more in the second half but they then hit us in the 87th minute. Even though the game had gone like that, I didn't even fancy them to score.
"I can't knock the lads this season, they've all done well and although I'm bitterly disappointed with the result, I'm far from disappointed with the performance."
