Bartlett, who has been back in South African football for a year now, is certain that Darren will make a big impact on the White Hart Lane stage and also further his international career.
"Without a doubt," said the 35-year-old. "The time I played with him he was one of the best goalscorers in the Premier League and he is a great prospect, not just for Spurs, but for England as well.
"Every day he is learning and developing as a player and he will be one of the best, if not the best, in the near future," added Shaun, before explaining Darren's particular strengths.
"Primarily his finishing as nine out of ten times he will put the ball away and it is very rare when you can find a striker like that. With his pace he creates opportunities as well and I am pretty sure he will do this in the coming season for Spurs."
Shaun Bartlett believes Darren Bent could develop into one of the best strikers around in the near future. Our close season signing bumped into his former Charlton Athletic teammate at the St Vincent's Children's Home on Friday before we came up against the South African forward's current club Kaizer Chiefs in the opening game of the Vodacom Challenge in Durban on Saturday.
