One million life changing opportunities

In January, 2007, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation officially launched at Number 10 Downing Street, with a £4.5m investment from the Club. This year has seen the Foundation reach a landmark, creating one million life changing opportunities for people in our communities - in only four years.

The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation uses sport and, in particular football, as a vehicle to create life changing opportunities for children, groups and individuals within our communities.

This is achieved by working with a wide range of partners including central and local government departments, schools, colleges, businesses and charitable trusts to design programmes that engage with all sections of the community.

Our activities are based on a belief that engagement through sport can result in far more than developing sports skills. It can harness a sense of mutual respect and trust, widen horizons, raise aspirations and provide opportunities to young people regardless of race, sex, age or creed.

Daniel Levy, Chairman, Tottenham Hotspur, said: "We are immensely proud of the work of the Foundation which is now widely recognised as one of the most comprehensive, effective and innovative organisations of its kind."

Ledley King, Club Captain, Tottenham Hotspur, said: "I was at the launch of the Foundation in 2007 and to have reached such a huge landmark so soon is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the Foundation staff. When you are growing up in a difficult area its all about taking the opportunities you are given and taking a positive step in life - that is what the Foundation enables people to do."
